Dr. Hwa Mu Lee is Clinical Professor of Medicine in the Division of Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine at the University of California, Irvine College of Medicine, in Irvine, California and Clinical Professor of Medicine at Western University of Health Sciences, in Pomona, California, and is Chairman of the Dept. of Medicine at West Anaheim Medical Center in Anaheim, California

Dr. Lee is a noted authority on the relation of COPD with cardiovascular disease, including the role of cardiovascular risk assessment in patients with COPD and the role of lung function in the prediction of cardiovascular outcomes.

Dr.Yong-Xiao Wang has been a Full Professor in Albany Medical College (USA) since 2006.Dr. Wang has had extensive research experience in basic,translational and drug research concerning pulmonary hypertension, asthma, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, diabetes, and cardiac arrhythmia for over 30 years. As the Principal Investigator, he has/had numerous NIH R01 research awards, AHA Established Investigator Award, and various other grants, for which he often holds/held 2 – 3 NIH R01 grants with other awards each year. As the corresponding author, first author and key contributor, he has had numerous publications in highly peer-reviewed journals including Antioxid Redox Signal (impact factor: 8.209), Proc Natl Acad Sci USA (9.432), Nature (34.480), Circ Res (9.214), etc. Dr. Wang has been the editor of academic books in the field including one entitled by “Redox Signaling in Health and Disease Pulmonary Vasculature” that has been confirmed for publication by Springer (New York). Dr. Wang has also served as the editorial board member and/or section editor for the Clinical and Translational Medicine, Pulmonary Circulation and several other journals.

Within his academic training, he is a RRT-Respiratory Therapist graduated from Santa Paula University, and holds a master's degree in integral health and human movement / emphasis in graduate health at the National University of Costa Rica, in addition to completing the course of Cardiopulmonary Rehabilitation phase II in The National University of Costa Rica, and performed the certification of pediatric and neonatal critical air transport of the Asturian association of pediatric intensive care. He works in the Costa Rican social insurance fund from 2000 to the present, in 2005 until 2008 he worked in clinical research at the ICIC, during this same period also work in home care program for patients with COPD from 2013 to 2016 was coordinator of the cardiopulmonary rehabilitation center at the Adolfo Carit Eva Women's Hospital and from 2015 to date The director of the Santa Paula cardiopulmonary rehabilitation center at Santa Paula Clinic.

Hiroaki Kume obtained his MD from Toyama Medical and Pharmaceutical University in 1982. He has completed his PhD in Department of Medicine (II), Nagoya University School of Medicine in 1990, and postdoctoral studies from School of Veterinary Medicine, University of Pennsylvania (Dr. Michael I. Kotlikoff’s Lab). Currently, he works at Department of Respiratory Medicine and Allergology, Kindai University Faculty of Medicine and Department of Respiratory Medicine, Rinku General Medical Center, Izumisano City, Osaka 598-8577, Japan, and focuses on investigating the characteristics of COPD with the goal of rational therapy for COPD

Nobuaki Miyahara graduated from Hiroshima University School of Medicine in 1988. He has completed his PhD in Department of Medicine II, Okayama University School of Medicine in 1994. He had done research on allergic airway inflammation at the National Jewish Health in Denver, CO, USA (Dr. Erwin Gelfand’s Lab) from 2001 to 2008. Currently, he works at Department of Medical Technology, Okayama University Graduate School of Health Sciences, and Department of Allergy and Respiratory Medicine, Okayama University Hospital.

Amnon Ariel is the immediate past president of the Israel Society of Pulmonology, and current lead of Clalit Heathcare Services COPD program. He is currently involved in clinical and organizational endeavors of improving airway disease diagnosis management and related database research in Clalit Healthcare Services (insuring 55 percent of the population in Israel). He is co-author of the 2004 Canadian COPD Guidelines and the 2017 Israeli Position Paper of the diagnosis and management of COPD in the community.

Mohamed Eddouks is Professor at Moulay Ismail University, Faculty of Sciences and Techniques Errachidia, Morocco. He is a researcher in Physiology and Pharmacology with a Master Degree in Metabolic and Molecular Endocrinology from University of Paris vi, a specialized certificate in Endocrine Pharmacology from University of Paris vii and PhD degrees in Physiology and Pharmacology from University of Liege, Belgium and Sidi Mohammed Ben Abdellah University, Fez, Morocco. After his post-doctoral fellowship at Department of Physiology, Faculty of Medicine of Montreal, Canada, he is working for the last 16 years on medicinal plants. His work on antidiabetic and antihypertensive plants is well recognized globally. His research focuses on ethnobiological as well as pharmacological issues in the use of Moroccan medicinal plants for the treatment of diabetes mellitus, obesity and hypertension. His contribution to this field includes four international books and more than 80 peer-reviewed articles and book chapters of international repute. He is Guest Editor of American Journal of Pharmacology and Toxicology, Lead Guest Editor of an annual special issue published by Evidence-Based and Complementary Alternative Medicine, Regional Editor of the Following journals: American Journal of Food Technology, Journal of Applied Sciences, Trends in Applied Sciences Research and Singapore Journal of Scientific research, Member of Editorial Board of several international journals. He has been honored with the first Prize of Scientific Research in 2008 by the Moroccan Association of Research and Development and the first Prize of the Federation of Arab Scientific Councils in 2016. He has been the Dean of Polydisciplinary Faculty of Errachidia from 2008 to 2012.
