Biography
Xiaohong Zhou is an Principle Scientist in AstraZeneca Gothenburg, where her research has been focusing on cell-matrix interaction in chronic lung diseases. She received her PhD in 1996 at Shanghai Medical University, where she investigated the integrin signaling in experimental liver fibrosis model. She then spent the following 5 years in Professor Reinhard Fässler’s lab in Max-Plank Institute for Biochemistry and Lund University as a postdoctoral fellow exploring the functions of the proteins in tenascin family by using gene targeting technology. Prior to her postgraduate studies, Dr. Zhou had 5 years medical education and received her MD at Shanxi Medical College in China.
